10 Tips to Reduce Your Plastic Footprint

1. Whilst it's hard to get our take-away meals and drinks served without single-use packaging/coffee cups/straws/cutlery, try to spend your hard-earned money with venues 'doing the righty' by using compostable eco-straws, bottles, coffee cups and plates etc. 2. Support businesses that use a compost service for their food scraps and organic packaging - composting is one of the most sustainable disposal methods on the planet. 3. Visit cafes giving discount for coffees served in your own resusable coffee cup, you'll save a few bucks throughout the month too. 4. Take your light weight plastics back to Woolworths Australia, they recycle...

Changes in the Middle East!

They say that the world is an open book and unless you’ve travelled (outside your own country I guess?) that you’ve only read one page. This statement was what popped into my head as I recently drove alongside a fresh water river in Cairo, Egypt on our way to experience some of the most iconic ancient history in the world. I’m not saying that I haven’t travelled before that, I have and I’ve seen lots of different cultures and countries, but there is nothing to prepare you for the waste that lines the streets and river beds of Cairo.Egypt is home...

The best way to dispose of our eco-straws and cutlery!

COMPOSTING Composting is the fastest and most sustainable disposal method for our plant-based, organic PLA products. All of #IMNOTPLASTICCOs products are commercially compostable, certified to European bioplastics...

WANT YOUR CAFE/BAR TO BE MORE SUSTAINABLE?

HERE ARE A FEW IDEAS 🌱 Reuse your coffee grounds in the garden, or offer them to your customers for free.  Clearly state and enforce which bins are which during service, 1 - General waste 2 - Recycling & 3 - Food waste/composting bin. Pay a small fee for a composting pick up service to come to your venue weekly to pick up your food waste and organic plant-based packaging. Give extra food waste to a local chicken farmer, visit www.sharewaste.com to see who is collecting in your area. Reuse your food cans & containers to grow herbs and vegetables,...

Changes from the ground up!

My son is 5 and started kindy this year in Australia. Already they are taught to be environmentally aware - the school has mandated plastic-free lunch packaging, they learn all about recycling, they have a composting facility, and a garden that utilises the compost, and produces floral and edible delights that the kids nurture and harvest - circular economy in action! They even made bees wax wraps the other week! Attitudes and behaviours form at a young age, I’m so thankful that our schools are leading by example. Change starts from the ground up! Even if the small change you...
